Located just 15 miles west of downtown Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Plymouth is the seventh largest city in Minnesota. Plymouth is the third largest suburb of Minneapolis–Saint Paul, which is the sixteenth largest metropolitan area in the United States.

The second largest lake in Hennepin County, Medicine Lake, is in Plymouth and extremely popular for anglers and boaters. Minnehaha Regional Park is one of the oldest parks in Minneapolis. This beautiful park features a 53-foot waterfall, several gardens, and limestone bluffs. It also has a playground, picnic area, and volleyball court, making it a perfect destination for a family outing.
The Millennium Garden is located in Plymouth Creek Center and is a beautiful part of the Plymouth Community. The Garden has flower gardens, fountains, and a labyrinth, as well as large areas of open space perfect for weddings and family parties. Hilde Performance Center is another important landmark in Plymouth. It is an outdoor venue where many concerts and performances are held during the year. Family-friendly community events are also held here for residents and guests to enjoy.

Saint Paul is about a 35-minute drive from Step By Step Montessori Schools of Plymouth. To get to Downtown Saint Paul, hop on Highway 169 and head south, passing Medicine Lake. Then take the exit to get onto I-394 and head east, passing Brookview Park and Theodore Wirth Regional Park. Before you get to Minneapolis, take the exit to get onto I-94 and head south, passing Loring Park. Continue east on I-94, crossing the Mississippi River, then take exit 241B into Saint Paul. Once you pass HealthEast St. Joseph’s Hospital and McNally Smith College of Music, you will be in the heart of Downtown Saint Paul.

Downtown Minneapolis is less than a 20-minute drive from Step By Step Montessori Schools of Plymouth. To get to Downtown Minneapolis, get on US-169 and head south, passing Medicine Lake. Then take the exit onto Highway 55 and head east, passing Brookview Park and Wirth Lake. Continue onto N 7th Street and when you pass the Target Field Baseball Park you will get onto N 10th Street. Once you pass the Hampton Inn you will make a left onto Hennepin Avenue where you will see the Orpheum Theatre and you will be in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis.
